random rants

At work today, i watched as drama unfolds. And i truly understand how the phrase "making a mountain out of a molehill " came about.
We all know Singapore is essentially not so much of a self sustaining country. WE rely on imports and exports and hence the so called "foreign talents" influx for maintaning our GDP growth. No doubt there ARE foriegn talents i know of..I have had those crazily brilliant classmates from other countries. BUT how many of all the foreigners working here are TALENT? (Please read again if you think i am being obnoxious. I totally agree that there ARE talents. )
Sometimes, the cultural disparity is so obvious that no amount of cultural classes you go to can help u understand things. Cultural dissonance or assimilation for progress...i always ponder about this. Is there a KPI or measure for this?

SOME people put up intersting show instead of working. I always feel, when you do a piece of work, it should be for the good of the project or company rather that trying to make use of this piece of work for your own gain, e.g getting recognition and credit. LEt me tell you- If you have substance, if you are good, you do not need to wayang or put on a show. It all shows too easily. You can't have me fooled.

Of course, to maintain a harmonious working environment and PROMOTE cultural and racial harmony, i kept my mouth shut and tried to be diplomatic. But in my heart i was thinking " this aint a talent. this is a troublemaker. " They claim to be stressed and busy. i have no idea where this invisble workload came from. Thats why it's invisible. But really, i tell you why some people work late(I say some..gotta be careful with my words here) or can NEVER seem to finish their work. I tell u why- they are too busy putting on a show, too busy talking. too busy worrying about what the boss feels about them and creating rumors or criticising other. These time spent COULD have translate into quality pieces of work. Making a mountain out of a molehill. All shows need an audience. I shall sit back, relax and watch as they take the stage. But No sir, i aint gonna be fooled.
Sometimes, working with people is harder that the task itself. Well, let's embrace this cultural differences with an open heart. World Peace.

mooncake festival some time back. see. i am so random. we made hazel and nutt little lanterns. nutt's lantern burst into flame so he was very upset.
i have many many thoughts that i really want to pen down or rather rant about, you all know how nonsensical my thoughts are that it prolly amuses other, but i will still write it down when i find the time to do so.
i am busy or so i claimed. i found out why already. i am busy cos i spend most of my time doing nothing and so i do not have the time to do anything.

Random days

Random outings. Inglorious basterds some time back. Which reminds me, caught City of Life and DEath as well yesterday. All these war movies plus my own self readings kinda make history alive again for me. Oh but gruesome images and cold blooded killings can be very disturbing indeed.

And then to Marina barrage for family day. Look who our dear Flower took a photo with! haha
That aside, the days seem to whizz by, busy with work and things outside work- from tennis to friends to family to tuptup, to tuptup's family and friends, to new classes (every wed i need to call in for 2hrs after work to listen to some class conducted in houston) .
Oh well, such is life :)Posted by Picasa

oh i m a nutcase

sunday. ah. marks(hopefully) the end of an otherwise terrible and emotional week. some days i just lose it. at the end, i am filled with guilt and remorse. i am sorry for all the outburst.

thAt plus all the grey topics i have been reading about- holocaust (no thanks to Inglorious Basterds) has sorta made me really crazy. war time atrocities are really sickening.
i shall not attribute my nutcase situation to stress from work, yada yada. i am not a good person . thats all i can say. when i get irritated and upset, nothing matters. i just go crazy and throw away everything.

Guess only my parents and tuptup can (barely) tolerate me.

Sorry. Sorry to everyone.

Ah, unhappy stuff aside. Met a long lost friend today. Had a good chat. How true that in times of adversity, you realise who matters, who never, and who would never. You realise how important family is, as they are the people who stand by you through the sun and the rain. And i particularly like the notion that " we can be happy now" . Often, we keep envisioning about the future, setting goals and dreams like " i wan to achieve this and that" so i can be happy, i want to have this and that to be happy. But really, you can be happy now, there are many things you have now that is enough to make you happy. But enough is never enough. Long story short, dont neglect the present for the future. What you have in control is the present and the very first thing you can is to make a change to the present and be happy. You can be happy now.

Last agenda on the list as always( long backdated photos).
