i just realise i am very out of touch with singapore and current issues
why? theres a new place called vivocity? haha

and abt news in the states.. theres usa today, chicago tribune, des moines register. iowa state daily. for me to read for free.sadly i don't. except the iowa state daily which is. well... very narrow in scope.

my design project 2 was bleah. mr cute-know it all offered to write the whole report. he went like 'oh i'll write everything, unless u want to write. but well, i am voluteering to write everything''.. sure.what could i say.
thats the difference btw guys here n in singapore. the guys here are very dominant and egoistic. i don't know if thats good or bad. they want to be in control and stuff. there are alot of over achievers here. everyone's DYING to write the report n to prove themselves. whereas in singapore, we'll be pushing the load away. or TRYing our best to wiggle out of as much work as possible.. everyone wants to be a slacker. in a way. even the guys. haha. so singaporeans guy..learn to take charge sometimes. haha.
but the point is kailing doesnt like to slack or appear to be slacking.like that i dont learn anything and i appear to be like a slacker and i m pretty sure i am gonna get a very bad score for team work evaluation beacause i m like not doing anything
but anyhow. we stayed till 11 pm in the com lab to finsh the project which was due today. why? because Mr know-it-all cute guy wanted to do it all by himself. he doesnt want me or the other guy to help him type some discussions or stuff. and so all i did was to sit beside him n help him constuct tables and figure. yes. like so submissive. bleah. but what could i say. i didnt learn from from the project becasue mr know-it-all got it all covered. haha

am now fully geared for winter. bought boots. suppose to be for up to -20 degrees kind which is why its black ugly and like that of the fishmonger's
bought a pink scarf, ear muff and a gloves
so the total damage today was about 40 usd. quite cheap huh? and i already have a winter coat n pants i bought from singapore. so yea. kai is ready for winter. and today the wind was really strong and kai the fat almost got blown away. lol

and halloween is coming! the pumpkins they sell here are huge!! cant wait for halloween to carve pumpkin..sorry. but kailing forgot her camera again. no wait she remembered her camera but forgot her battery. haha

ok weekends. study time! and not to mention spending time with my two cute guys in the sweeny com lab to do my design project. SIGH!!! not very appealing. though they are cute. i'ld rather sleep or play games or go out la! and which reminds me haha maple has a new function that tell u how long u have been playing..so today it says :you have been playing for four hours.maybe u should take a break. haha cool huh. yea. if any of u see me online n i dun reply its probably i am in maple. i m not really playing but i prefer seeing the interface and the scene there so i usually just log on n stand inside. haha

on a cold rainy tue night.kai the fat has to go for her exam at 8pm.sighz! the good news is i am done with my exams for the week. the bad news is there's another one next week. and my damn plant design project is due. haiz. just last week. cute guy 1 was reassuring me everything's under control and that we still have a lot of time to do it. n then yesterday i checked my calendar. oct 19 is next week! cuter guy 2 is seriously the coolest guy i have met, seriously. i dun see people or guys like him in singapore . well he comes to class. no wait he doesnt come for class except for the project. he skips the lecture. he wears shades to class and his jeans are those with silts here n there. he is cute and cool. haha. the 1st thing he asks me is "how is it going man". now the point is he doesnt come for class but he knows what is going on. so me n cute guy 1 are usually the one in the lab doing the project. we will be like asking each other question and confusing ourselves. so ok for this project we have 3 cases to work on. cute guy 2 is taking case one. me n cute guy 1 are suppose to take a case each but because we are so lost, or rather i am lost.so i decide to do a case together with cute guy 1.

so every tue n thur saw kailing n peter in our own maze, and i'll be flooding him with rubbish questions. i think he must be very irritated. haha thats beacuse scott the cuter one is perpetually missing in action. lab is 2hrs. he comes 1hr b4 the class ends. so today he was like. "how is it going man." then me peter were like.."eh we still working on the 2nd case" *sheepish grin*
and he went" oh i am done with my case. i shall work on the 3rd case then." cool.very cool. now. u would think.maybe he is just pretneding to know. but no. he discussed stuff with the professor and whenever i ask him a question.unlike cute guy 1 who only goes 'eh..' he always give me very detailed answer.

horrible weekend
sat was spent doing some plant design assignment. not the project. so i started from 3 pm n did till 12 am.. having to learn how capcost n hensad or whatever the crap works n i was going a little bonkus. if i see anymore heat exchanger i m going to explode 1st before
it does.
and then checked out air tics for end of the year. i realise my tics for thanksgiving had some problem so i stayed till 3 plus am resolving it..but all is well now. i m gg california n chicago for thanksgiving ..n new york n florida(disney! yay) end of the year.tics have been bought. let's just hope nothing goes wrong anymore! i'll be back in singapore early jan..

and hopefully i'll have some time or chances to meet with da 6B pple here before i roll back to singapore..like that the bird in michigan who will probably be going for his 3rd..or was it the 4th honeymoon during thanksgiving.. n the rabbit who seems to be having tons of fun in virginia. n who has promised to introduce hot american hunks to me. n there's poon in brown.. daryl in michigan. there's lots of rj people in michigan..i should prolly make a trip down there some day. but it seems really hard to get out of ames n i have been trapped in the city for the past 1 month or so. anyone wants to come save me? its like in the states, no car=stranded. taxi are so expensive. mayb i shall organise a 6b outing here. like everyone meet under that christmas tree in des moines. n of cos, no one will turn up..haha

canoeing today was fun! i love it..although i know tomorrow, i'm gonna wake up to sore arms
but sorry to say i forgot my camera! so no pics..till i get them from other people..
but i love the scenery, the company and the weather, even though it was supposed to be like below 10 degreee celsius, it certainly didn't feel so!
i was lucky that my partner,heather is really good at canoeing since i HONESTLY do not know how to.. i mean i can't swerve, change direction or go straight. she's from wiscosin and is totally into outdoor sports.some kind of iron woman.she did those kind of marathon iron race kinda thing. and i spend my time talking to her about singapore, durian, dominican republic,how thanksgiving and christmas came about..and she's gonna be a doctor! in reconstructive surgery. and yea she commented i can speak good english too!
actually my partner was an indian guy(yes indian) but it ended up we both can't canoe and kept going into the rock at the side. so kailing threw her paddles up in exasperation and told him" i don't want u anymore!" haha
the scenery was really nice too..nice cool air..like those scenes u see in movies..where people go hiking kinda thing and then a monster or anaconda pops up. but no, nothing happened..it was a calm peaceful relaxing trip.. with crazy singing from some of the guys.
and then after the canoeing
some of us went to the mexican restaurant. ahhh 1st time trying mexican food. i asked maria to recommand a really good one because back in singapore, there are mexican food but i wouldnt know if they are authentic or similar to mexican's food. the food was nice though a little ex..but worth it since i have never tasted mexican food and really wanted to know what real mexican food was.

ok i got an exam next tue
got to study over the weekends. bleah. i got lotsa exams coming back
but i'll still have my fun somehow! =P

n ok.today we had the design project. my bad breath boy played it cool by wearing a cap. but i just ignored him for the entire lesson n did my own stuff..well partly cos i was too engrossed in designing my crap distillation column..oh and one thing the professor in charge of my booth told me.. he is biased towards NUS. ntu people will kill me.. haha we are suppose to promote both uni but its like he prepared all sort of info and posters about NUS and kept telling the american student abt nus only.. hahaha ok la. i mean who cares abt what people in iowa think anyway right .ntu is good also right.no difference la=P

u cant kill the mugger personality in me. shipping me to ames here will still make kai ling a mugger. and it was raining anyway. i din feel like getting out. although greedy kailing was caught in the rain and she ran all the way back to the hall.the distance in which she ran was about that from science to engine. i hope i don't fall sick here.

theres a fair next tuesday where i m suppose to promote singapore and nus. i have not done anything yet. on one hand, i want to do my best to promote singapore n nus so that it reflects well on us..on the other hand.. i m simply too lazy.

and the worst thing is theres a canoe trip next sat at some river. ah i hope no crocodiles ah. but the thing is i have an exam on the monday after and two exam n one plant design project due 2 weeks later. it did not help that for the design project, theres a guy in my group with tremendous bad breadth,(ASIAN guy whose nationality will not be revealed). he is those slacker lazy worm kinda person. he doesnt contribute anything nor opens his mouth during discussion. but when he does open his mouth, i'll squirm and move away because the smell is horrendous.
this, is, i would say the type of guy i will never ever marry. ok throw me down the river if i do. kill me. not only does he have a poor sense of personal hygience, his outlook towards life n work is poor. i don't like slacker. u know. i don't the kind of people who pushes the work to others. they will never make it big.blah. blah blah. i m just ranting
